Counselling & Psychotherapy

People come to therapy for many different reasons. You may be struggling with anxiety, relationships, loss, low self-esteem or difficult experiences from the past. Perhaps you find yourself repeating the same patterns in relationships or behaviour and don’t quite understand why. Or you may simply have reached a point where life doesn’t feel as it should, and you would like somewhere to think about what is happening.

Therapy offers a confidential space where we can explore these things together. I won’t judge you or tell you how you should live your life. Instead, I’ll work with you to understand what you’re experiencing, where some of these difficulties may have come from, and what might help things begin to change.

I am an experienced BACP Registered Counsellor and Psychotherapist and Chartered Psychologist, with a PhD in Social Psychology. My approach is integrative: while my therapeutic foundation is person-centred, my work draws particularly on psychodynamic and relational approaches, alongside a wider range of psychological ideas that inform how I understand each individual and their experience. This allows me to adapt the way we work rather than trying to fit you into a particular therapeutic model.

Above all, I believe that effective therapy develops through a relationship in which you feel safe, understood and able to be yourself. Whether you are facing a particular crisis or want to understand yourself and your relationships more deeply, we can begin by talking about what has brought you to therapy and what you would like to be different.
